Efficient logistics for iconic Copenhagen street party
Distortion is one of Europe’s most legendary street parties. When the event’s 2024 organisers needed containers of all kinds at multiple locations, they knew who to call.
The challenge
Distortion 2024 presented several complex logistical challenges. The event’s stages and activities were located across Copenhagen, at popular destinations such as City Hall Square and Distortion Ø on Refshaleøen.
Organisers from event management company NusNus needed a supplier to provide both ArcticStore refrigerated containers for their cooling needs and regular shipping containers for screening off locations and defining stage areas.
Logistics had to be managed within a tight timeframe while accounting for the challenges posed by the urban environment. These included traffic disruptions, road closures, and local government restrictions.
Our brief stipulated that TITAN drivers had to deliver containers within a specified timeframe, move them between locations, and collect them again, all without disrupting the city’s normal operations.
“To ensure all containers were delivered on time for Distortion 2024, it required careful planning,” said Paw, a TITAN driver. “We had to work around rush hour to avoid delays, which meant early starts. But it feels good to know our efforts contributed to a smooth and successful festival.”
The solution
Drivers involved in the project at TITAN Containers came up with the idea of deploying additional trucks to ensure the timely delivery and collection of the containers. They planned deliveries outside peak traffic times, reducing the risk of delays and ensuring smoother transport to both City Hall Square and Refshaleøen.
TITAN Containers worked closely with NusNus to understand their exact needs and schedules. This collaboration ensured that all containers were delivered and positioned correctly. They were also collected again within the agreed timeframes.
The results
Our cool-headed logistical planning resulted in a successful, seamless delivery, which contributed to the smooth execution of Distortion 2024.
Our strategically placed non-refrigerated containers served both as screening and as effective advertising pillars, meeting NusNus’ needs for both safety and revenue generation.
